How to Recycle
1. Empty the bag – Make sure there are no coffee grounds left inside.
2. Remove any hard parts – Cut off the valve or zipper if possible.
3. Collect with other soft plastics – Things like bread bags or chip bags.
4. Take it to a Recycle BC depot – Drop it off in the “Soft Plastics” or “Other Flexible Plastic Packaging” bin.
Why We Use Recyclable Coffee Bags
We’ve switched to recyclable soft plastic bags because they make it easier for you to dispose of them responsibly.
While our previous Biotre bags were labeled “biodegradable,” there was no practical way to compost or recycle them in Vancouver. They often ended up in the landfill.
By moving to soft plastic packaging, we’re choosing a commercially recyclable option that can be dropped off at any Recycle BC depot. It’s a simple, accessible way for all of us to reduce waste — together.
